The Program Presentation

STIC AmSud is a regional cooperation program in science and technology in which are participating France, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chili, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. The aim of the program is to implement joint projects in order to promote and strengthen collaboration and creation of networks of research and development in the field of information and communications technologies (ICT’s).

The program carries out call for proposals from which are selected and supported research and development projects in the ICT area, that include a potential transfer of innovation at regional level, throughout the funding of the researcher’s mobility. The approved projects have a duration of two years and involve at least two countries of the South American region and one or more team(s) of French scientists.

The specific objectives are:

  • Develop collaboration in the field of ICT through the exchange of researchers, doctoral students and knowledge between the involved Southern American countries and France.
  • Support projects of basic and applied research containing a potential transfer of innovation and technology, with a regional scale, between France and at least two South American partners.
  • Encourage synergies in South America with institutions and other regional and multilateral programs in this sector.
  • Encourage the participation of young researchers and ensure continuity of networks.
