On 23 and 24 October 2019, the annual meeting of the STIC and MATH AmSud Steering Committees will be held at the National University of Asunción, San Lorenzo, Paraguay.
At this annual meeting, the Committees will select the projects resulting from the 2019 call for projects (22 STIC AmSud projects and 13 MATH AmSud projects), approve the funding for the second year of the current projects as well as the finalized projects.
STIC AmSud and MATH AmSud are regional cooperation programmes that promote and strengthen collaboration and the creation of “research and development” networks in the field of Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies (STIC) and Mathematics (MATH), through the funding of the mobility of researchers involved in joint projects lasting two years. Funded projects must include at least one team of French researchers and two teams of South American researchers from two different partner countries.
In parallel, the mathematics scientific seminar (MATH AmSud) will be held on 22 and 23 October 2019 at the National University of Asuncion. It will focus on the following theme: “Mathematics for epidemiology and biology – Analysis, mathematical models and simulations to understand the structures, development and behaviour of living organisms”. The seminar will bring together researchers from most of the partner countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and France. This event will promote knowledge exchange and engage young researchers from the host country to stimulate future projects.
